The Joy of a Toy & Gift Store in Columbus GA

Growing up in Huntsville Alabama during the Apollo space era, I spent my childhood looking up at the stars, wondering where my own place in the world would be. While studying at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill rooted my heart deeply in the South, the vibrant energy of the big city called my name.

That calling led me to New York City, where I spent 23 incredible years—including six as Senior Director of Marketing at Sony Music International. Leaving the music industry allowed me to follow my true passion for retail, launching three women’s clothing boutiques in the NYC. When my husband and I found out we were expecting triplets, life invited us to start an inspiring new chapter.

We returned South to Atlanta to raise our family and build Feather Baby, a baby clothing line I designed and wholesaled with the help of top sales reps to over 500 boutiques across the country while running our local storefront in Decatur.

Years later, a getaway to an Airbnb near Columbus changed everything. I fell head over heels for this vibrant community and realized it was time to bring to Columbus my absolute favorite things in the world: the magic of play, and the love of gift giving. A time to spark our imaginations together.

What began as a popup shop at the historic Goetchius House has grown into a vibrant home for Dragonfly Toys & Gifts inside The 706 Social on Broadway. After living in Columbus for eight wonderful years, meeting everyone perusing the delights that The 706 Social offers is my joy, and I’m honored to be amongst artists and creators who are doing what they feel in their hearts.
